The agreement, in plain terms.
What you get, what you owe, who owns what, and what happens when either side wants to stop.
Who you are contracting with
BookGrid is operated by UNIQUE-EDGE INNOVATIONS LTD. Using the service means accepting these terms. If you signed up through a product operated by another company on this platform, your agreement is with that company, not with us.
What you own
You own what you make. The subject you supply, the manuscript produced, and the finished files are yours. You hold the copyright, you may publish and sell commercially, and you owe us no royalty or share of sales.
We claim no licence over your content beyond what is needed to run the service for you — storing it, processing it to produce your book, and backing it up. We do not use it to train models.
What we own
The software, the interior templates, the specification rules and the brand remain ours. A subscription is a right to use the service, not a transfer of it.
What the service undertakes to do
The pre-flight check verifies the mechanical requirements a retailer applies: bleed, gutter, spine width, image resolution, embedded fonts, and safe areas. It does not guarantee acceptance. Retailers change their requirements, apply editorial and content policies of their own, and make decisions we have no visibility of. What we undertake is that the file meets the published mechanical specification for the format you chose.
We do not warrant that generated text is accurate, original in every particular, or fit for a given purpose. You are the author and the publisher of record. Reviewing what you publish is your responsibility, and every stage is editable so that you can.
What you agree not to do
- Produce material that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Attempt to reach another account’s content, or to probe the separation between accounts.
- Resell or white-label the service outside the partner programme.
- Automate access in a way that degrades the service for others. Ask us if you need volume — there is usually a sensible arrangement.
Paying
Subscriptions and credit purchases are charged in advance. Prices are shown before you are charged, and the figure you are shown is the figure that is charged — they are computed from one source precisely so they cannot differ. Charges appear on your statement named for the product and the company.
Credits that come with a plan are for use within that plan’s period. Credits bought as a pack do not expire.
Stopping
You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Cancelling does not delete your books, and you can export everything whether or not you are still subscribed.
We may suspend an account that is being used for the things listed above. Where we do, we will say why, and you will still be able to export your work unless a legal obligation prevents it.
Liability
We are responsible for running the service with reasonable care. We are not responsible for lost profits or lost sales arising from a book’s commercial performance, from a retailer’s decision, or from content you chose to publish. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
If these terms change materially, we will tell account holders by email before the change takes effect, rather than editing the page and relying on the date at the top.
